This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career through exposure to a dynamic and challenging environment. Working as part of a large air quality management team you will be supervising the team of Air Quality Controllers to manage air quality systems and providing instruction to operational areas to drive positive environmental outcomes.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Practical application of technical knowledge on air quality to ensure compliance, address risks and drive improvements in air quality management.
* Effective leadership of a team of air quality controllers to manage air quality risks and deliver on commitments.
* Provide a high level of support and collaboration with operational partners to facilitate effective environmental and compliance management.
* Manage the AQC centre to achieve compliance with the Environmental Authority and minimise operational impacts through applying meteorological knowledge and control strategies for operational emissions.
* Management of assigned tasks to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
* Effective data management, analysis, interpretation and reporting.
* Management and development of current AQC processes through review with key stakeholders and implementation with thorough communication.
* Drive AQC preliminary incident investigations and assist in implementation of corrective actions.
* Ensure timely and adequate rostering of controllers to ensure continued AQC operation.
* Assist with annual regulatory reporting requirements. Involvement in identification of safety concerns, and implementing HSEC initiatives.
The successful applicants will have:
* Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant science (meteorology, environmental science/engineering, or process engineering/metallurgy).
* Relevant smelting/processing or mining operational experience (preferably more than 3 years).
* Supervisory/leadership experience is desired.
* Demonstrate experience in meteorological assessment.
* High level understanding of relevant legislation, compliance, codes and standards.
* Systems experience, be goal-orientated and highly organised, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with operations personnel.
* Experience in management of complex technical situations.
* Familiarity with process control systems would be highly desirable.
* Manual drivers licence
