Capstone Recruitment has been engaged by the Western Sydney University Design Team to recruit a two-year contract Assistant Design Manager role.
Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Assistant Design Manager is responsible for supporting design management and space planning as a member of the design and planning team at Western Sydney University.
Reporting to the Program Design Manager, you will participate in the delivery of small to medium size projects focused on interior alterations to university buildings including workspace, teaching space, laboratories, student spaces and public domain.
This role will also contribute to the space management team by participating in space monitoring, policy refinement, space strategy and test fits.
Proactively and autonomously develop solutions to resolve conflicting interests.
Attend multiple campus sites across Western Sydney.
(Driver's Licence Required)
Gain exposure to the design of agile work environments.
Monitor spaces changes and ensure the University's space database is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications and Experience
Degree in architecture or interior design with 2-5 years of design and construction industry experience in large or complex organisations.
Prior design management experience would be an advantage.
Well-developed visual presentation skills with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly to different stakeholders and produce high quality presentation materials.
Demonstrated ability to produce test fits within a wide variety of space typologies including workplace, learning, specialised and technical spaces.
Demonstrated capability with applications including ArchiCAD, Adobe and Microsoft Office.
Understanding of data management applications such as Microsoft Excel and exposure to databases will be an advantage.
Ability to analyse, interpret and visualise data will be well suited to this position.
Analytical thinker, inspired by innovative ideas and committed to good design.
Well-developed problem-solving skills, the capacity to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.

This is a HYBRID workplace role which requires you to work from the Richmond Head Office Campus on Mondays, an additional two days from any of their Western Sydney Campuses stretching from Bankstown to Campbeltown and Penrith to Parramatta.
There is the ability to work from home for the other two days of the week.
This is a TWO YEAR Contract paying up to $550+ 12% Super per day.
