**Fibre Technician/Splicer**

**About the Role**
We are seeking a self-motivated and safety-conscious professional with experience in the **provisioning, commissioning, and maintenance of NBN and Telstra fibre optic network infrastructure**. This role involves working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Install and maintain fibre optic infrastructure, including communication racks, joints/enclosures, live network cutovers, and commissioning fibre optic cables.
- Perform OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve fibre optic network issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to deliver exceptional service.
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Complete site-related duties as required.
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven experience as a Fibre Technician/Splicer, including live network cutovers.
- Expertise in fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fibre troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of fibre cable types, connectors, racks, and splice enclosures.
- Ability to interpret technical plans, scopes of work, and specifications.
- Certifications such as **Cert III in Telecommunications** and **Open Cable Licence with Fibre Endorsements** are desirable but not required.
- **Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card)**.
- Valid **Australian Driver's Licence** and willingness to travel.
- Current **National Police Check**.
**Mandatory Requirements**
To be eligible for this role, you **must**:
- Have the right to work in Australia (e.g., citizenship, permanent residency, or valid visa).
- Hold a valid **Australian Cabler's Registration**.
- Possess a **Construction Induction Safety Certificate (White Card)**.
- Hold a valid **Australian Driver's Licence**.
- Provide a current and clear **National Police Check**.
**Additional Information**
- At least 1 year of relevant industry experience is required.
- Previous Australian telecommunications experience is mandatory.
- Client-relevant inductions and compliance with classified NDA agreements are necessary.
- Security vetting may be required for some sites.
