Overview

Suncorp Group are currently looking for an empathetic and customer focused individual to join their GIO Workers Compensation Claims Team in Canberra as a Claims Advisor. As a Claims Advisor you will play a critical role in assisting injured workers throughout their claims process, acting as a primary point of contact, providing guidance, support, and expertise to ensure a seamless experience for both workers and employers. Each claim will present its own set of problems; at GIO we like to approach claims from a biopsychosocial model of care, where examining a person holistically is vital in understanding how we can best support them in their recovery and return to work. This role is a permanent full-time role across Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Do

- Manage a portfolio of Workers Compensation Claims from initial contact to final return to work
- Accurately review and assess claims in line with the ACT Workers Compensation Act and internal policies and procedures
- Clear and concise communication with all stakeholders
- Engage with the ACT Market, employers and Brokers to enable collaborative portfolio management and quality reviews
- Manage your workflow to ensure that all activities are completed within applicable timeframes
- Collaborate with internal support and external stakeholders to ensure proactive Case Management and best customer outcomes
- Provide an excellent level of customer service to employers and injured workers through compliance with legislation, timely response times and efficiency in processing

What You’ll Bring

- Experience with Workers Compensation/personal injury claims is desired
- Allied Health experience would be highly regarded but not essential
- Strong team player with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service
- Exceptional listening and communication skills in a high-volume work environment
- Strong analytical or Quality Assurance focus
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy for the customer
- Proven ability to build rapport with customers and key partners
- Ability to interpret complex information and respond by developing appropriate actions
- High standard of written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management skills with the ability to adhere to strict legislative timeframes
- High level of resilience and ability to manage complex, sensitive and challenging matters
