- Within the role you responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and efficacy of medical procedures by carefully preparing, sterilising, and storing reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment. This key role is crucial in preventing infection transmission, thereby protecting both patients and healthcare professionals.
As part of a large team, Sterilisation Technicians work under routine supervision, following strict protocols and standards to maintain the integrity and sterility of instruments. **Where you'll be working**:
Cessnock District Hospital, a 64-bed facility serving the growing local population with emergency, surgical, and general medical care, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Sterilisation Technician to join their Theatre Department. Situated just a short drive from the Hunter Valley vineyards and serving as the administrative hub of the City of Cessnock Local Government Area, Cessnock offers a vibrant community surrounded by picturesque countryside, with affordable dining and accommodation options. This role presents a unique opportunity to work within the largest local health district in NSW, which provides services to over 900,000 residents across the Hunter, New England, and Lower Mid North Coast regions.
**Requirements and Additional information**:
- Sterilisation Technology Certificate II or III in health service assistance (sterilisation services) or equivalent qualification and relevant experience in sterilisation services department within a healthcare facility
