Offer description

Seeking a long-term role in the marine industry? This is a rare prospect for a professional Vessel Manager, who is also an experienced Captain, to take full command of two immaculate 70-ft Sunseeker motor yachts.

Based exclusively at Point Piper Marina, this position offers the year-round stability that seasonal or contract work cannot. It allows you to focus on operational excellence without the challenges of split logistics or income instability between seasons. If you are ready to apply your management skills and passion for boating to a premier private fleet, we want to hear from you.

The Advantage: A Smarter Way to Work

This role is designed for maximum efficiency and the highest standards. With both Sunseekers berthed at the same marina, you operate from a single, world-class hub.

One Centralised Base: All responsibilities, from skippering and detailing to contractor management and refuelling, are managed from one premium location.

Zero Logistical Waste: Your time is invested in perfecting the vessels, not consumed by cross-harbour travel or managing separate sites.

Unmatched Efficiency: Command a tighter operation with a shared inventory, a unified maintenance schedule, and the ability to maintain two near-identical vessels to a single, impeccable standard.

Your Mandate

As the dedicated Vessel Manager and Captain, you will have complete ownership of the fleet's operational readiness, presentation, and the delivery of a flawless on-water experience.

1. Command & Guest Experience

Act as Master for private harbour cruises and coastal voyages, ensuring the absolute safety and comfort of all on board.

Execute flawless close-quarters manoeuvring, berthing, and anchoring.

Manage all voyage planning, including meteorological checks, pre-departure protocols, and meticulous logbook entries.

Curate exceptional guest experiences, handling everything from provisioning and safety briefings to five-star service.

2. Vessel Readiness & Presentation

Maintain both yachts in immaculate, "turn-key" condition, ready for departure at a moment's notice.

Implement a rigorous schedule for wash-downs, stainless steel/teak care, and interior detailing.

Ensure both vessels are consistently fuelled, watered, and provisioned, with all safety equipment certified and correctly stowed.

3. Maintenance & Contractor Management

Conduct hands-on preventative maintenance, including fluid/filter checks, monitoring of bilge and battery systems, and care for all fittings.

Schedule, oversee, and coordinate all specialist contractors (mechanical, electrical, etc.) within a seamless planned maintenance program.

Manage the parts inventory, maintain a comprehensive service history, and arrange haul-outs.

About You

You are a proactive and safety-conscious professional who is calm and decisive under pressure. You set a best-in-harbour standard for yourself and your vessels. You operate with a high degree of autonomy and integrity, communicating clearly with the owner and possessing the expert judgment to manage all aspects of vessel care.

NSW General Boat Licence (or equivalent).

Extensive, demonstrated command experience on large leisure motor yachts (50–80 ft) with exceptional close-quarters handling skills.

Strong practical mechanical aptitude and a deep, intuitive understanding of modern vessel systems.

Proven organisational and management skills, with experience coordinating contractors and budgets.

Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required, with time off arranged mid-week.

Current First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).

A Note on Qualifications: While an AMSA Certificate of Competency (e.g., Master <24m NC, Coxswain) is highly regarded, it is not a prerequisite. We are actively seeking applications from highly competent recreational skippers who possess a deep, proven understanding of large-yacht systems, maintenance, and expert boat handling.

What We Offer

Year-Round Stability: A permanent, full-time salaried position, offering you financial security and a consistent schedule, free from the uncertainty of seasonal work.

An Unparalleled Platform: The unique two-boat, one-marina setup is a force multiplier, allowing you to achieve a standard of excellence that is impossible when managing split logistics.

Autonomy & Support: The trust and independence to manage the fleet as your own, backed by a responsive private owner who values your expertise and professionalism.

Ready to Take Command?

If you are a Vessel Manager ready to step into a stable and operationally superior role, this is your opportunity. Take ownership of your career and apply today.
