Reporting to the Cyber Security Operations Lead, the Cyber Security Engineer will support the daily operational activities for the internal cyber security team. This role will be responsible for monitoring internal cyber security tooling for alerts, anomalies, conduct initial triage and escalations, gather and collect required data for investigations, assist in driving vulnerability management and third-party program, create and maintain playbooks with guidance from Senior Cyber Security Engineer.
This role requires general technical background in cyber security, and an understanding of network and system security protocols, intrusion detection and prevention systems. The Cyber Security Engineer must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Roster: Mon-Fri 8.5 hours (including lunch break)
What you will do
* Monitor cyber security events and incidents using tools such as SIEM platforms and intrusion detection systems.
* Perform initial threat analysis, conduct triage, determine severity levels, and escalate incidents following established processes.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‐functional teams to support timely and effective incident resolution.
* Review and report on the compliance, performance, and health of cyber security technologies, highlighting gaps and recommending improvements.
* Support vulnerability assessments by participating in scheduled scans, analysing data, documenting findings, and assisting with risk‐based remediation prioritisation.
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of technical and administrative security controls aligned with organisational policies and industry best practices.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
* Support the delivery of cyber security awareness programs by developing materials, conducting presentations, and promoting safe online behaviour.
* Participate in incident response activities by assisting with investigations, evidence collection, and documentation of actions taken.
Skills and Experience
* Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security or related degree.
* 1-3 years' experience in IT or cybersecurity support roles.
* Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, Zero Trust concepts, and risk management.
* Exposure to SIEM, DLP, or vulnerability management tools is desirable.
* Strong curiosity and desire to learn technical and analytical skills.
