**The Role**
Centacare, as the lead agency of a consortium-based model, is responsible for operating the headspace, Port Adelaide program. headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation. The headspace mission is to improve the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young Australians aged 12-25.
The Youth Support Worker - Lived Experience will provide brief, non-clinical peer support to individuals either face to face or via telephone and utilise Lived Experience practise theories including personal recovery, trauma-centred, strengths-based, social theory, humanistic and holistic perspective.

**What you need to bring**
**Essential**
- Minimum qualification Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent)
- Lived experience of a mental illness and demonstrated significant mental health recovery
- Proven experience working with young people experiencing emerging and diagnosed mental health concerns
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid South Australian driver's licence
- Ability to do some work outside of standard hours when required
**Desirable**
- Previous experience in co-facilitating groups or workshops
- Degree in relevant Human Services discipline
- Experience using Mastercare client management system
