The Team
The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest tertiary referral centre. Our pharmacy team comprises specialist pharmacists, rotational pharmacists and leadership roles, forming the largest division of the pharmacy department. We provide comprehensive services across inpatient care, outpatient clinics and high‐acuity settings.
The Role
As the senior pharmacist, you will provide pharmaceutical care to critical care patients and offer training, supervision and support to pharmacy staff within the hospital.
Coordinate clinical pharmacy activities and drug information provision in the critical care medicine specialist area. Provide a high standard of clinical care in accordance with professional standards, best practice and person‐centred care to inpatients, outpatients and staff.
Responsibilities
* Provide and coordinate comprehensive pharmaceutical care as part of a multidisciplinary team in critical care medicine, including dispensing, patient counselling and professional advice to other health professionals.
* Educate pharmacy staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students in the theory and practice of clinical pharmacy services and supervise pharmacists and support staff in specialist areas.
* Take an active role in maintaining drug information, drug utilisation evaluation and education programmes for other health professionals.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia, or an overseas qualification eligible for skills assessment through the Australian Pharmacy Council.
* Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
* Pre‐registration (intern) pharmacists: Eligible for provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $110,425 – $121,907 per annum (Pro rata) with 12% superannuation contribution.
Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010, meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year and other benefits if eligible. Access to salaries beyond $119,290 may require qualifications or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum; market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata. Additional allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available.

Employment Details
Fixed term part‐time, shift worker position; 38 hours per fortnight, commencing immediately until 13 February 2027. Hours to be negotiated with successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for twelve months from publication.
