The primary focus of the role is to lead and support acoustics projects and participate in the overall development of Arup’s Acoustics consulting capability in New South Wales. The role is based in Sydney, however we work regionally and collaborate on projects throughout the Australasia Region and the globe.
The Opportunity
1. Consulting and project management of acoustics, noise and vibration projects, providing timely and technically competent input on acoustical matters at meetings, in reports and by other means of communication as appropriate
2. Resolving complex acoustical engineering issues & summarising data interpretations and providing conclusions
3. Financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget
4. Responding to enquiries, communicating with clients to establish their needs and drafting fee proposals
5. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

Is this role right for you?
6. Degree qualified (in acoustics or science-based degree) and have achieved professional qualification
7. Current and extensive experience of acoustics consulting or relevant discipline
8. Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of acoustics, noise and vibration, and current codes and standards
9. Knowledge, experience and practical application of the full range of empirical, analytical and simulation tools for acoustics, noise and vibration
10. Creative, innovative and able to deliver cutting edge solutions within constraints of project budget.
