Job Summary
Primary Location: NT - Robertson Barracks. Multiple opportunities to join our Grounds Maintenance Team on the PAS contract! Permanent full‐time positions based at Robertson Barracks.
About the Role
Responsible for performing a wide range of manual and machine‐assisted tasks in physically demanding outdoor environments. Supports the efficient and safe execution of construction, agricultural, and infrastructure projects by operating plant equipment, performing general labouring duties, and assisting tradespeople and site teams. Positions focused on land‐management duties such as weeding, spraying, and mowing.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and clearing land for construction, agriculture, or infrastructure projects.
* Operating plant and construction machinery safely and efficiently.
* Loading, transporting, and handling materials and equipment.
* Performing manual labour including digging, lifting, and trenching.
* Supporting tradespeople and crews with general site tasks.
* Conducting equipment checks and reporting faults or hazards.
* Identifying utility lines and managing soil conditions.
* Setting up and cleaning work areas to maintain site safety.
* Participating in toolbox talks and contributing to a safe work culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Ability to safely operate mowers, blowers, compactors, and other landscaping equipment.
* Capability to lift, dig, bend, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Experience assisting with fencing, paving, retaining walls, and irrigation systems.
* Familiarity with OH&S procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively on‐site.
* Punctual, dependable, and able to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Relevant licences, white card and first aid requirements are highly regarded.
* Must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
