**Our Journey**
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
**_ We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Assistant to join our General Services Team at Dandenong Hospital and work as part of our PSA Pool team. Your availability is key to being considered for these positions._**
**_ To be considered you will need to have:_**
- Full availability 7 days a week (working a minimum of 6 shifts per fortnight).
- Full Availability to work during peak times such as; school holidays, Easter, Christmas and other key public holidays and peak times.
- Availability to cover planned leave such as annual leave and long service leave
- Commitment to work your rostered shift.
- Role is permanent part time - 45.6 hrs f/n
As part of this workforce, you will be offered six guaranteed shifts per fortnight.
**A Day in the Life**:
Your main focus will be to provide excellent support based patient services. Your duties will include patient transfer between wards/imaging, patient turning and ward cleaning. You will work under the Direction of Nursing Managers, Nursing Staff and the Support Services Leadership Team. The Patient Services Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Daily and discharge cleans
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Department and ward cleaning
- Use of lifting equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs
- Patient transfers - wards / imaging
- Bed moves within unit
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
**About You**:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health
- A proactive approach and a team player
- Great attention to detail
**What you Need**:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous patient services or patient care attendant experience
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks
- Basic to intermediate digital literacy
