At Distinctive Solutions Australia we are looking for a self motivated, fit and reliable glazier to help us with our shower screen and wardrobe projects on residential construction projects in in Canberra Region. You will have the opportunity to:
* work on multi residential projects and in new homes in NSW & ACT
* load materials in and prepare work areas
* complete shower screen, mirror and splashback installations
* assist with other types of installations as necessary to complete the contract works
The successful candidate will
* have an eye for detail
* work well in a small team
* show initiative and drive
* show care for materials and the buildings we are working within
* keep the work area clean and tidy
* work cooperatively and professionally with our clients and other trades
* be flexible with work hours and understand the need to achieve client deadlines
* be willing to travel as required or potentially relocate if needed
* have at least 12 months relevant experience gained in the last 5 years
Some of the skills required:
* Inspecting glass for flaws and marking areas with defects
* Measuring glass surfaces and marking guidelines for accurate cutting
* Using templates and patterns to cut glass into required shapes
* Preparing glass by placing it on padded work surfaces or within jigs for shaping
* Determining the appropriate type and size of glass needed for each project
* Removing surplus glass and separating pieces using notched tools and pliers
* Installing glass and mirrors in a variety of settings such as sshower screens, mirrors and wardrobe doors
