About the Role
This position requires an experienced Registered Nurse employed by the RFDSSE to provide care for patients accessing the NEPTS for transfer from aircraft to facility.
Operating solely in the road transport environment, this casual role entails ensuring patient stability during their period of care.
* Ensuring patients remain clinically stable during their occasion of care.
* Identifying clinical deterioration and escalating clinical concerns in an appropriate and timely fashion.
* Providing ongoing communication with the patient and their medical escort, as well as various external stakeholders.
When not involved in patient care, the successful candidate will be involved in administrative and base duties as determined by the Senior Nurse, Emergency and Transport.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, a candidate must possess the following:
* Relevant registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) qualifications.
* Minimum 3 years acute post-graduate nursing experience, or demonstrated skill level.
* 2 years ICU/ED experience.
* Any other relevant acute care or emergency skills.
