Ward AC2
The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus
Our Home First Ambulatory and Complex Care service is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) subacute care team on Ward Aged Care 2, a 20-bed inpatient unit.
Working alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will support best-practice, person-centred care that recognises each individual's physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs, enabling optimal engagement with life.
The GEM team focuses on promoting cognitive recovery and developing person-centred care plans. We are passionate about supporting staff development through education opportunities, team nursing models and preceptorship.
Nurse Resource Team
The Royal Melbourne Hospital - Royal Park Campus and Parkville Campus – Multiple wards
The Nursing Workforce Unit offers a unique career opportunity for Enrolled Nurses to join the Nurse Resource Team (NRT), providing flexible clinical support across multiple departments at both the Royal Melbourne City and Royal Park campuses.
Shifts are centrally managed by the Nursing Workforce Unit and allocated according to organisational need, aligned with individual nursing skills and experience. Clinical areas include acute medical and surgical wards, subacute services and residential care.
NRT Enrolled Nurses work under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager and liaise closely with the Nursing Workforce Unit, Nursing Education team, multidisciplinary teams, precinct partners, consumers and carers.
As an EN on the NRT, you will work either:
* On the ward with an assigned patient ratio, or
* In a 1:1 or 1:2 nursing capacity as a Higher Level of Care resource.
Your New Role
* Providing patients with safe, timely, effective, person-centred health care (STEP)
* Maintaining a high standard of care by demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills relevant to the level of expertise
* Providing high quality patient care in collaboration with the patient, carer, and the multidisciplinary team
* Maintaining health and safety standards by managing risk and actively working towards implementing risk reduction strategies
* Speaking up for safety by raising concerns about safety in a respectful manner
About You
* Enrolled Nurses that are eligible to apply must have a minimum of 1 year of acute or subacute experience.
* Excellent communication skills & clinical knowledge
* Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
* Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
* Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem solving and prioritisation
* High motivation and willingness to learn
* Able to work a rotating roster including AM, PM and ND shifts
