We have an exciting opportunity for an Event Partnership Officer – Major Events to join our team and play a key role in managing and delivering a portfolio of major events that showcase the vibrancy of the Cairns region to the world.
What You Will Do:
As the Events Partnership Officer, you will provide end-to-end management of a diverse sponsorship portfolio of major events under the guidance of the Program Leader – Major Events. Your role will be crucial in ensuring these events not only succeed but deliver positive economic benefits and a strong return on investment for both Council and the local community.

What We Are Looking For:
* Tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as Events Management, Marketing or Tourism at a Bachelor Degree level.
* Experience managing Funding or Partnership Agreements including the delivery of sponsorship benefits.
* Well-founded understanding of the events industry, including technical and logistical aspects.
* Robust understanding of event acquisition and development to drive value to the Cairns economy.
* Demonstrated knowledge of event marketing practices, including via traditional media, digital media and social media.
* Proven written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Experience working with SmartyGrants or other grant and sponsorship management platforms.
