Business Manager Role at Clarendon State School
We are seeking a motivated Business Manager to provide financial, operational, and administrative support to the Principal, ensuring effective school management.
This is a permanent part-time role offering 22 hours per week (0.6 FTE) with the Department of Education.
About the Role
1. Budgeting and Financial Planning: The Business Manager will oversee the financial planning process, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively across departments.
2. Financial Reporting: Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports will be prepared, providing insights on the school's financial status to leadership.
3. Audit and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, including audits and tax filings.
4. Payroll and HR Management:
* Payroll Processing: Timely and accurate salary payments for staff will be overseen by the Business Manager.
* HR Support: Recruitment, contracts, benefits administration, performance appraisals, and development plans will be managed.
* Staff Wellbeing: A positive working environment will be promoted, addressing HR-related issues as they arise.
5. Procurement and Resource Management:
* Procurement: Cost-effectiveness and quality will be ensured in the purchasing of goods and services for the school.
* Resource Allocation: The allocation and maintenance of school resources, from supplies to equipment and facilities, will be managed.
6. Operations and Administration:
* Facilities Management: The upkeep of school buildings and grounds will be ensured, managing maintenance and health & safety compliance.
* Contract Management: External vendor contracts will be overseen, ensuring terms are met and services delivered as expected.
* Policy Implementation: Operational policies will be kept up-to-date and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
7. Strategic Planning and Reporting:
* Collaboration with School Leadership: Close collaboration with the headteacher or principal will ensure alignment of financial and operational strategies with the school's overall goals.
* Business Development: Opportunities for cost savings, revenue generation, and process improvement will be identified.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Liaison with external stakeholders such as local authorities, funding bodies, and parents will keep them informed on relevant developments.
8. Data Management and Systems:
* Financial Software: Accounting and administrative software will be used to track budgets, financials, and resource usage.
* Reporting Systems: Accurate records and data will be maintained.
