About the Role

The Economic and Financial Modelling Analyst will work in a team focused on data analysis and decision-making. Your role will be to support economic modelling, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making to shape the future of early childhood education.

You will maintain and source relevant data assets across the work program, ensuring that data and information are tailored to the intended audience. You will also conduct discrete data analysis related to budget and financial modelling, local provision planning, market analysis, and policy scenario analysis.

Additionally, you will utilize and interpret outputs from the statewide preschool provision model, including funding, infrastructure, and workforce planning elements. You will update data elements within the statewide preschool provision model as directed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
">
To thrive in this role, you will bring technical proficiency in modelling, data analytics and reporting, with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel and coding (R strongly preferred). You will have effective communication skills to deliver complex data and analysis in both written and verbal formats.
">
You will have autonomy to work under limited direction and exercise independent judgement. You will also have policy experience, contributing to policy analysis and complex advice, including communicating data to provide recommendations and support decision-making.
">
A collaborative mindset is required, with the ability to foster relationships with stakeholders across all levels of government and beyond. A relevant degree in economics, finance, or another quantitative discipline is highly desirable, but not required.

Benefits

This is a full-time 2-year long term contract role with potential to be made ongoing. The salary range is ASO5 $85,790 - $95,413 per annum, plus superannuation.

Other Information
">
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check prior to being employed. This must be renewed every 5 years before expiry.
">
Additional requirements include undertaking RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course, which will be updated every three years.
