The Opportunity

This is a high‐impact, field‐based role responsible for driving growth, building strategic customer relationships, and expanding Caledonia Group's presence across the commercial, infrastructure, mining, and heavy‐industry sectors throughout New South Wales.

You will operate with a high level of autonomy and commercial ownership, working closely with our Operations and Marketing teams to convert opportunities into long‐term customer partnerships.

This role is ideal for a motivated business developer who enjoys working directly with customers in the field, identifying operational challenges, and translating technical discussions into meaningful commercial outcomes.

You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities while also supporting growth within existing accounts across the sectors in which we operate.

Role Description

This full‐time role is based in New South Wales and combines field‐based customer engagement with the flexibility of remote work.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, building long‐term relationships with key industry stakeholders, and executing strategic growth initiatives to expand Caledonia Group's market presence across the region.

The role also includes delivering high‐impact presentations and developing proposals that support sustainable long‐term growth.

Given the nature of the position and the customer base, candidates must be willing to travel throughout mining and industrial regions as required.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive new business development and expand growth within existing accounts
* Prospect, qualify, lead customer meetings and site visits
* Develop and maintain a disciplined sales pipeline
* Prepare high‐quality proposals and quotations
* Engage directly with mining operators, maintenance teams, and industrial stakeholders
* Support marketing campaigns and participate in trade events
* Represent Caledonia Group professionally across customer sites and industry functions
* Report regularly on pipeline health, conversion activity, and territory development progress

What We're Looking For

* Proven B2B field‐sales or business‐development experience within the mining, heavy‐industry, infrastructure, or commercial sectors
* Demonstrated success in driving territory growth
* Ability to confidently discuss maintenance, reliability, and operational performance
* Strong relationship‐building and negotiation skills across operational and executive stakeholders
* Self‐motivated and comfortable operating autonomously in a field‐based environment
* Strong organisational and pipeline‐management capabilities
* Current and valid Australian driver's licence
* Must be currently based in New South Wales
* Willingness to travel as required

We provide scaffolding, full access solutions, insulation, cladding, design and engineering alongside our on‐call hireable skilled labour force of scaffolders, sheet metal workers, rope access technicians, riggers, and crane and hoist operators. Our in‐house design and engineering team provide the highest quality temporary access and support structure solutions for complex projects, harnessing the power of technology to deliver BIM and Virtual Reality modelling, transparent tracking systems, and lifecycle data collection.
