Job Description
About the Role
The Cargo Co‐Ordinator is responsible for overseeing freight operations within a designated work area, ensuring productivity, performance, and compliance standards are consistently achieved. The role provides leadership, supervision, and coordination of staff while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Service Delivery
* Supervise and coordinate a team of freight staff within a designated operational area
* Ensure productivity and performance criteria are achieved, including completion of regular performance assessments
* Provide leadership, training, and ongoing support to designated staff
* Organise and allocate work to meet operational requirements and deadlines
* Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
* Make recommendations to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service delivery
* Perform administrative and reporting duties, including use of communication and computer systems
* Participate in probationary employee assessment panels
Standards, Compliance and Safety
* Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company procedures
* Promote a safety‐first culture within the team
* Ensure all equipment and operational activities meet safety standards
* Report hazards, incidents, and operational risks in a timely manner
Desired Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated leadership experience in freight or ground handling operations
* A valid Australian Driver's Licence
* Ability to obtain and hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
* Ability to obtain and hold a valid Airside Driving Authority (ADA)
* Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Competent in the operational requirements of Ground Handling (ideal)
* Working understanding of the Aviation Industry
* Excellent organisation and time management skills to ensure safe and compliant operations with schedule pressures
* Strong ability to multi‐task, prioritise and meet deadlines
