Bring your caring nature. We will teach the rest.
Alchemy Services is a values-driven organisation based in Murray Bridge. We "walk alongside" people to build connection, purpose and fulfilment through trusted, relationship-based support that grows confidence, everyday life skills and independence over time.
Whether you are experienced or new to the sector, if you are calm, kind, reliable and committed to doing the work with dignity and respect, we would love to hear from you.
The Alchemy Way (how we work)
At the heart of our services is "The Alchemy Way"—a practical, relationship-first approach grounded in:
* Safety (clear boundaries, risk-aware practice, safeguarding first)
* Connection (building genuine trust so people feel supported, valued and understood)
* Empowerment (strengths-based support that builds confidence, skills, and real choice and control)
* Respect (honest communication, collaboration, dignity in every interaction)
We are also proudly neuro-affirming—we adapt to individual needs in ways that foster authenticity, inclusion and dignity.
About the role
As a part-time Carer / Mentor, you will support older adults and people living with disability in home and community settings. Your shifts may include:
* Supporting daily living (meal preparation, light household tasks, routines, transport, community participation)
* Providing companionship, emotional support and steady encouragement
* Assisting with personal care when required (and only within your training/competence)
* Using a calm, respectful approach where behaviour is understood as communication and safety is built into how we work
* Keeping clear notes and records so support is consistent and accountable
* Working collaboratively with families/carers and the wider team to support progress that lasts beyond formal services
Entry‐Pathway applicants (no experience required)
You do not need a care background to apply. If you have the right values, we will provide training, mentoring and structured support so you can build confidence in the role. (People from hospitality, retail, education, parenting, volunteering, community work—often thrive here.)
You may be working towards a Certificate III in Individual Support (or willing to start).
Experienced applicants (highly valued)
If you already have aged care/disability experience, we will value what you bring and place you where your skills make the biggest difference—particularly in relationship-based support, boundaries, documentation, and safe practice. Our quality and safeguarding expectations are clear and consistent.
What we are looking for (both pathways)
* A genuine commitment to Safety, Connection, Empowerment and Respect
* Strong communication and the ability to build trust
* Patience, emotional maturity, and a practical, grounded approach
* Reliability and flexibility for part-time shifts
* Willingness to learn, reflect, and improve (we take continuous improvement seriously)
* A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
What we offer
* Paid, supported onboarding and ongoing training (especially for entry-pathway candidates)
* A calm, relationship-first culture with clear boundaries and low threshold for escalation when something feels wrong
* Flexible part-time work with a supportive team environment
* Professional development and mentoring (we invest in capability because quality depends on a supported workforce)
Checks / requirements
You will need (or be willing to obtain):
* Police clearance / relevant screening checks
* Right to work in Australia
* Any role-specific certifications as required (we will guide you through what applies)
