Projects and Disaster Recovery Officer Full Time Permanent The Opportunity The purpose of the Projects and Disaster Recovery Officer position is to provide administrative and technical support to ensure the effective delivery of infrastructure projects and disaster recovery works, under the general direction of the Project Manager. The role supports compliance, financial management and documentation activities to assist Council in maximising eligible funding recovery and delivering safe, timely and high‑quality outcomes for the community. The salary is $85, 954 per annum plus superannuation. $45.5991 per hour. Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate has experience assisting civil or disaster recovery projects, can interpret guidelines and technical documents, is highly organised, skilled in Microsoft Office, and communicates clearly while coordinating documentation and stakeholder interactions. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and technical support to the delivery of infrastructure projects and Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) funded works, under the general direction of the Project Manager, ensuring required documentation and processes are completed in accordance with funding guidelines and Council procedures. Assist the Project Manager with project planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management activities through the preparation, collation and maintenance of supporting information, records and documentation. Maintain accurate and up-to-date DRFA documentation, cost records, evidence registers and acquittal material to support funding claims, audits and recovery processes. Support the engagement and coordination of contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders by preparing documentation, tracking actions and facilitating communication, as directed. Monitor project and DRFA expenditure and prepare progress, cost and financial reports for review, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with funding and governance requirements. Key Selection Criteria: If our values resonate with you ‘Opportunity, Respect, Strength and Accountability’ and you possess the following qualifications and experience, read below about how to apply: Diploma or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Civil Construction, Engineering, or a related field OR significant relevant experience in project coordination within local government, civil works, or disaster recovery operations; Demonstrated experience in the delivery of infrastructure or civil construction projects; Ability to interpret guidelines, funding rules, or technical documentation relevant to project work; Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines; Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn and develop project management processes; and Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills. Desirable Experience working with Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement (DRFA), Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) processes, or government‑funded infrastructure programs.
