The role
About the Role
Psychologists / Clinical Psychologists are required to work 3–5 days per week, full‐time or part‐time, at our St Leonards and/or Manly Vale locations. The role involves conducting assessments, providing therapy, and liaising with other health professionals and referrers. Flexible hours, including after‐hours sessions, are available.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and implement evidence‐based therapy (ACT, CBT, DBS, Narrative, AMER, etc.).
- Provide individual and group therapy, maintaining high treatment outcomes and client retention.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, reports and written documentation.
- Liaise with referrers, GP's and other treating clinicians by phone, email and written reports.
- Participate in fortnightly individualized supervision and case consultation.
- Engage in marketing activities to attract new clients and referrals as part of the team.
- After‐hours availability of at least 2 days per week.
- Potential to progress to Clinical Team Leader or Principal Psychologist.
Essential Criteria
- Fully registered with the Australian Psychological Society or close to registration.
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
- Competence in CBT and willingness to work with other modalities such as ACT, schema, MI, CFT, DBT.
- Registered (or on route to being) with Medicare as a provider of psychology items.
- Clinical experience working with a range of presentations and client demographics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational and time‐management skills.
- Professional, flexible, collaborative, & committed attitude.
- After‐hours availability, at least 2 days per week.
- Ability to develop and foster relationships with referrers.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with ACT, DBT, schema therapy, MI, CFT and other mindfulness‐based models.
- Clinical endorsement.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, couples.
- WorkCover approved.
- Previous private practice exposure and/or Medicare MHCP work.
Location & Facilities
Practice located at St Leonards (North Shore) and Manly Vale (Northern Beaches). Purpose‐built, sound‐proof therapy rooms with natural light and access to parking. Fully supported admin environment.
