As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking a high-calibre agricultural executive to lead, scale and optimise our farming operations.
The Role
As General Manager – Faulkner Farming, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the strategic and operational direction of Faulkner Farming leading a high-performing team of Aggregation Managers ensuring alignment with investor mandates and our core values.
This role will work closely with the Faulkner Farming Managing Director and Board of Directors to optimise asset performance, integrate new acquisitions, and deliver on sustainability, capital, and workforce strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight
Lead the development and execution of annual business and operational plans for each business unit/aggregation.
Drive performance, profitability, and sustainability outcomes in line with investment objectives.
Mentor and support Aggregation Managers and their Teams, ensuring cohesive operational delivery and talent development.
Play a key leadership role in planning capital improvements, sustainability implementation, and workforce development.
Financial Performance & Reporting
Oversee financial reporting, expenditure tracking, and performance analysis.
Collaborate with the Financial Controller and senior business analyst to deliver high quality quarterly and annual performance reports.
Monitor budget variance, identify risks, and implement proactive mitigations.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure alignment with legislative, workplace health and safety, and ESG compliance across all sites.
Lead governance activities and attend Board and Investment Committee meetings, providing expert updates on operations and strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including investors, suppliers, customers, and local communities.
Champion Faulkner Farming's brand across the sector, representing the business at industry forums and with government and regulatory bodies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across farming systems, technology integration, and sustainability practices.
Promote a culture of innovation and accountability within teams, aligned with GAP's core values.
About You
Experience & Expertise
Demonstrated success in leading large-scale cropping and/or mixed farming operations or agricultural portfolios.
Experience working within an institutional or corporate agriculture environment.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and act on financial, operational, and environmental data.
Proven leadership capability with a track record of managing teams, performance, and stakeholder relationships across complex operating environments.
Skills & Attributes
Deep understanding of agricultural production, agribusiness strategy, and sustainability frameworks.
High-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to lead through influence, collaboration, and empowerment.
Proficiency in farm management platforms such as AgWorld or equivalent tools.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field required.
Postgraduate business or leadership qualifications (desirable but not essential).
