The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Maintenance Worker to join our team. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining the safety, functionality, and presentation of the City's infrastructure. You will be part of a team that takes pride in keeping Council's roads, footpaths and public assets in top condition.
The role involves drainage works such as trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, compaction operations and operating plant on drainage construction sites, and a variety of civil maintenance tasks including kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation and bitumen repair.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Current unrestricted HR (Heavy Rigid) class driver's licence
* Hold a current Construction Induction Training card (White Card)
* Basic Worksite Traffic Management accreditation and possession or, or ability to acquire, accreditation in Traffic Control
* Relevant experience in a civil maintenance environment
* Experience in trenching, pipe laying, backfilling and compaction operations
* Experience in the safe and accurate operation of plant on drainage construction sites
* Competency in the use of concrete cutters, foot stamper, plate compactor, road making plant, general construction tools and equipment
* Knowledge of kerbing, paving, concrete laying, reticulation and bitumen repair techniques, methods and quality control procedures
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications
