Hedland Senior High School (SHS), located in the Pilbara, is an Independent Public-School catering for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
The school emphasises positive behaviour supports and a culture that encourages care, courtesy, respect and responsibility, with a focus on inclusivity and high standards of achievement.Find out more about our school by visiting hedlandshs.wa.edu.au.The RoleAs a Special Needs Education Assistant in the Success Program, you will work with students to assist teachers in delivering planned education programs focused on literacy, numeracy, social emotional learning and work readiness skills, while supporting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
You will perform tasks that require judgement in achieving clearly defined outcomes determined by the teacher and Head of Learning Area.
Through prior experience, you will ideally demonstrate delivery of planned education programs and contribute to the evaluation of educational outcomes.The successful applicant should be a caring, proactive and responsive individual who possesses good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs.
You will work in an environment committed to whole school approaches; self-reflection and continuous self-improvement; and collaborating with the classroom teacher, Head of Learning Area and other Success Program staff to deliver an inspiring and quality educational experience.Eligibility and requirementsbe an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; andconsent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.Additional eligibility and training requirements are outlined in the attached Job Description Form (JDF).
