Offer description

Overseas-Trained Orthodontist / General Dentist – Orthodontic Focus Canberra, ACT | Embrace Orthodontists + Smile Clinics Australia

About the Opportunity We’re looking for an overseas-trained orthodontist — or an orthodontically focused general dentist — who is pursuing or planning Australian registration and is likely to initially hold General Dental registration with AHPRA.

This is a unique dual-brand role working across two complementary practices:

Embrace Orthodontists A specialist orthodontic practice delivering Invisalign, fixed appliances, and complex multidisciplinary treatment.

Smile Clinics Australia A boutique, high-efficiency aligner and braces provider focused on Lite–Moderate treatment.

If you’re seeking high orthodontic case volume, hands‑on mentorship, and a clear long‑term pathway in Australian orthodontics, this role is worth your attention.

What Makes This Role Different Most roles for overseas-trained clinicians offer limited scope and little structure. This one is different. From day one you’ll have genuine orthodontic exposure, work directly alongside specialist orthodontists, and benefit from a clinical governance framework designed to support your growth — not just your compliance.

High-volume orthodontic caseload from day one

Direct collaboration with specialist orthodontists

Structured clinical governance and treatment planning support

Exposure to digital orthodontics and remote monitoring

The Role Responsibilities will be tailored to your registration level and experience, and may include:

Orthodontic records, diagnostics, and treatment planning support

Delivery of aligner and fixed appliance treatment within scope

Monitoring treatment progress and managing refinements

Patient consultations and case presentations

Collaboration with specialists on complex or multidisciplinary cases

All clinical activity will align strictly with your AHPRA registration scope and any applicable supervision requirements.

About You You are overseas-trained in orthodontics, or a dentist with substantial orthodontic experience, and you’re serious about building a long-term career in Australian orthodontics. You hold — or are actively working toward — AHPRA General Dental registration, and you bring a patient-first approach, strong communication skills, and comfort working in digital, high-efficiency clinical environments.

Desirable but not essential: experience with aligners (Invisalign, Angel Aligner, Spark), fixed appliances, or high case-volume practice settings.

What We Offer

Competitive base salary with performance incentives

Structured onboarding into Australian clinical systems and workflows

Mentorship from specialist orthodontists

Visa sponsorship support considered for the right candidate

Long-term career development within our growing group

Please reach out directly to Jack Nilon, Business Manager, at jackson@eo.com.au — we’d love to hear from you.
