About the Role
As a Registered Nurse Immuniser, you'll play an important role in protecting the health of Tasmanians through safe, person-centred vaccination clinics. Shifts are offered according to service needs and may include community-based clinics, outreach programs, and school immunisation sessions scheduled throughout the year. This is a great option for nurses who enjoy flexibility, variety, and working with diverse groups across different locations.
Key Responsibilities
Administering a range of vaccinations to adults, children, and infants while supporting nervous or anxious clients with empathy and professionalism.
Reviewing international vaccination records and determining appropriate catch-up schedules.
Ensuring validity of consent and assessing individual suitability for immunisation.
Responding to medical emergencies, including administering adrenaline when required.
Managing cold chain protocols and monitoring first aid emergency equipment.
Participating in an annual performance meeting with senior members of the clinical team.
About You
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and the Nursing Board of Australia.
Department of Health (DoH) Approved Immuniser with valid certification.
Current CPR certification.
Minimum 2 years' continuous experience as an immuniser.
Knowledge or experience with the Vitavo Immunisation and Diagnostic Management Platform is desirable.
