Equans ANZ, a leading provider of technical services across Australia & New Zealand, and globally, is on the lookout for a National Technical Services Manager to be an integral leader of an experienced team of multi‑skilled technicians that work across a wide variety of sites and industries across Australia.
Based in Sydney, Adelaide or Perth, this role provides national oversight across a diverse portfolio and requires regular travel to support contract performance, operational excellence, and client engagement. As our National Technical Services Manager, you will guide a skilled, multi‑disciplinary team to consistently deliver outstanding service outcomes for our clients while shaping the future capability of our national operations.

What You Will Be Doing
* Leading national service delivery – Oversee day‑to‑day technical services operations across multiple states, ensuring consistent, high‑quality delivery of maintenance, projects, and multi‑technical services.
* Providing expert technical support – Act as the senior technical authority for complex electrical installations and critical power systems, including UPS, DC power systems, switchboards, and generators, supporting delivery teams with troubleshooting, design input, and risk management.
* Managing maintenance performance – Lead the planning and execution of reactive and planned maintenance programs, ensuring all activities meet contractual timeframes, compliance requirements, and budget expectations.
* Overseeing contractors and suppliers – Supervise subcontractors and service partners nationally to ensure safe work practices, technical quality, commercial compliance, and alignment with Equans standards.
* Overseeing the scheduling and administration – Work closely with the National Service Coordinator to ensure effective planning and scheduling is being achieved to deliver positive outcomes.
* Hands‑on leadership – Lead and support teams through planned shutdowns and high‑risk works on complex electrical sites, providing on‑the‑ground guidance, clear direction, and decisive problem‑solving to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution.
* Critical power oversight – Coordinate and supervise shutdown activities involving UPS systems, DC power systems, generators, switchboards, and other critical power assets, ensuring robust risk controls and continuity planning.
* Team capability uplift – Mentor and coach technicians and subcontractors during shutdown works, embedding best practice, improving technical confidence, and strengthening operational discipline across the team.
* Safety‑first leadership – Champion WHS and electrical safety standards during all shutdown activities, ensuring permits, isolations, switching procedures, and energisation processes are executed flawlessly.
* Strengthening client relationships – Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as the primary escalation point for service performance, technical issues, and contract delivery.
* Managing budgets and financial performance – Prepare, monitor, and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost‑effective service delivery and strong financial outcomes across the national contract.
* Supporting project delivery – Lead and support project teams in the delivery of technical and facilities‑related projects, ensuring scope, timelines, safety, and quality standards are met.
* Driving operational excellence – Identify improvement opportunities, uplift technical capability, and embed best‑practice processes across the national delivery team.
* Ensuring compliance and safety – Maintain strict adherence to WHS, statutory, and contractual requirements across all service activities and critical power operations.
What You Need
* Electrical qualifications – Electrical trade qualification or an electrical engineering background, with strong technical capability across complex electrical systems and critical power infrastructure.
* Technical leadership experience – Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar senior role overseeing multi‑site or national service delivery.
* Deep multi‑technical knowledge – Strong understanding of facilities and technical services including building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and multi‑disciplinary service delivery.
* Critical power expertise – Demonstrated experience supporting or managing UPS systems, DC power systems, generators, switchboards, and complex electrical installations.
* Project delivery capability – Experience managing and delivering technical or facilities‑related projects, balancing operational service delivery with project execution.
* Strong communication and leadership – Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem‑solving, and team‑leadership skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across dispersed teams.
* High‑level organisational skills – Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, projects, and competing deadlines in a fast‑paced national environment.
* Financial and commercial acumen – Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and commercial performance within service contracts.
* Safety and compliance knowledge – Solid understanding of WHS, statutory obligations, and compliance requirements relevant to technical services and critical power operations.
* Customer‑focused mindset – A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service and operational excellence.
