We're excited to welcome a Healthcare Ambassador to our Acute Medical Unit, Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH). The purpose of the Healthcare Ambassador role is to provide respectful, non-judgemental, empathetic, supportive, people-focused interactions, and form part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality care to patients.
The Healthcare Ambassador is a non-traditional security role, managed under Hospital and Health Service, that provides a patient-focused liaison role within select clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities include:
Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
Continually monitors and actively patrols the designated clinical areas and proactively engages patients, visitors and staff to develop a positive safety culture.
Create opportunities to enhance the user experience by making connections with those in the area and, where possible, alleviating some of the stresses and anxiety through respectful interpersonal interactions.
Uses supportive verbal de-escalation and engages staff resources to identify appropriate strategies aimed at the de-escalation of potentially violent behaviour.
Salary between $69 486 - $72 833 p.a. (f/t) or salary $2663.40 - $2791.70 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $35.04 - $41.77 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (OO3) (Fixed term temporary full time and/or part time positions availalbe for up to 2yrs) Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy.
