**Statistician/ Data Analyst (Full Time - Fixed Term, Jan 2025 - Jan 2026)**
**About Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University and Monash Health**
MCHRI sits under the Facility of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University. Established in 2005, MCHRI has grown from 3 to 180 staff and students. MCHRI is a collaborative partnership between Monash University and Monash Health. MCHRI utilises public health research as well as the translation and implementation of clinical, health services and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI is the base for the new maternity Learning Health System (LHS), embedding research and maternal healthcare provision, to drive unprecedented, sustainable national improvement in maternity care and health outcomes for women and newborns. MCHRI works with broader reach across Monash Partners Academic Health Science Centre, nationally and internationally in our research and translation endeavours. Our vision is to create, synthesise, implement and translate clinical, health care and public health knowledge, underpinned by cross sector end user engagement, to deliver health impact. MCHRI has led organisational and individual leadership support programs in healthcare for nearly a decade.
**About the Role**
**Primary responsibilities include**:
- Provide statistical consultations for Monash Health staff
- Project coordination and management for data/analytics components of research projects at MCHRI
- Assist with the development of evaluation methodologies,, data cleaning and analysis and preparing results & reports
- Provide data analysis statistical support for MCHRI research projects and programs, including maintaining/using information systems, databases, websites and record-keeping systems
- Keep abreast of developments, activities and protocols in area of expertise through liaison with staff & peers, reading relevant literature and attending meetings & seminars
- Comply with Monash Health and Monash University policy, procedure and protocols relevant to the undertaking research
- Other research and administrative duties as directed by the Professor Helena Teede & Dr Joanne Enticott
**About You**
The person we are seeking will be highly experienced in quantitative assessments including traditional statistics. Machine learning skills are desirable but not compulsory. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and stakeholder consultancy skills, including the ability to communicate statistical methods and results to members of multidisciplinary research and clinical teams. The role requires sound analytical and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated high-level organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, plan work to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure. Experience in health and healthcare would be advantageous.
**What you need**:
- Tertiary qualification in health or social sciences, STEM, education or related discipline
- Quantitative research experience
- Experience in statistical consultancy or teaching would be advantageous
- Current Victorian driver's licence
