Fatsecret is at the intersection of nutrition data and technology. We are seeking a Junior/Mid level AI Engineer dedicated to building production-ready solutions that solve real-world problems for our millions of users and our internal operations.
The Mission
As part of the AI Innovations team, you will be the bridge between cutting‐edge AI research and practical engineering. Your goal is to design solutions that don't just \"exist,\" but actively remove manual work and enhance our core systems.
What You'll Do
* Build & Ship: Prototype quickly and turn high‐potential ideas into production‐ready GenAI tools and agents.
* Agentic Systems: Build and embed AI agents into core operational systems to automate complex workflows.
* Full‐Stack Integration: Stay close to the code using Python, APIs and cloud services to integrate LLMs with enterprise systems.
* Reliability & Observability: Ensure AI systems are robust by implementing monitoring, evaluation and MLOps‐style observability.
* Collaborate: Partner across the business to identify automation opportunities and contribute to the responsible use of GenAI at fatsecret.
What You Bring
The Core Essentials:
* ~1 year of hands‐on experience building GenAI solutions in real‐world environments.
* 2+ years of software engineering experience (Strong Python, and scripting).
* Strong Engineering Fundamentals: Comfort working across the entire stack – code, data and APIs.
* Production Experience: You've deployed GenAI solutions into live systems and understand how to operate them over time.
* Cloud Fluency: Experience with AWS (ideal), Azure or GCP.
Technical Skills & Mindset
* LLM: Hands‐on experience with AWS Bedrock/OpenAI/Claude/Gemini, LangGraph or similar agent frameworks.
* Modern DevOps: Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD and Infrastructure‐as‐Code.
* Entrepreneurial Spirit: A massive bias toward action. You prefer building and shipping over endless theorising.
* Academic Foundation: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
