Our Digital, Data and Technology team is responsible for enabling the department to deliver its services through the provision and governance of information management, systems, data and technology. Their goal is to provide our workforce with the tools they need to do their jobs effectively, while making it simpler for the community to access the information they need.
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer is accountable to the Manager, Data Architecture and Business Intelligence for:
* building, maintaining, and managing GIS data, metadata definition to support reporting for the Department
* provide mapping and analysis services including spatial data creation, data management, spatial analysis, map production and issues resolution
* applying data analysis, data modelling, and quality assurance techniques to develop and maintain automated performance analysis and reporting mechanisms
* understanding business requirements, working closely with business stakeholders, and delivering solutions which are attuned to the desired business outcomes
* adhering to industry best practices for software development projects and document development projects
* analysing trends internally and externally to identify opportunities to enhance departmental operation
