Job Title: Legal Practitioner
A legal professional with a focus on family violence matters is sought to provide expert litigation services and support to the department.
About this role:
* Undertake complex litigation work on behalf of the department, prioritizing cases related to family violence.
* Provide high-quality legal services and advice to support the department's operations.
The successful candidate will be required to work 73.5 hours per fortnight, engaging in a variety of tasks that may include case management, research, and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities:
1. Litigation and dispute resolution expertise, particularly in family violence matters.
2. Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, including senior lawyers, solicitors, and administrative staff.
3. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and quality of output.
4. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies impacting the department's work.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
* Law degree (LLB or equivalent).
* Relevant postgraduate qualification in law or a related field.
* Membership of the relevant state or territory bar association.
* Prior experience working in a similar legal environment.
