About the role:
As our Practice Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operational management across our two practice sites, ensuring our teams deliver an exceptional patient experience that reflects our values. You will work closely with the directors to support the ongoing growth and strategic direction of the business, with oversight of Human Resources, Financial Management, IT, Risk Management, and Policy and Procedure development. This role also works collaboratively with our Nurse Team Manager, Office Manager, Finance Support, and Administration Team to ensure efficient and cohesive practice operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business & Strategic Management: Work with the directors to develop and implement business strategies, oversee practice financials (including payroll, budgeting, and reporting), and identify opportunities for growth and service improvement.
- Human Resources: Manage all aspects of HR, including recruitment, on-boarding, training, performance management, and fostering a positive, supportive team culture.
- Daily Operations: Oversee the efficient day-to-day running of both practice sites, including reception workflows and general operations.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Ensure the practice meets all accreditation standards and legislative requirements, maintaining policies, procedures, and risk management processes.
- Patient Experience: Promote and maintain a high standard of patient care, ensuring customer service excellence and effective management of patient feedback and complaints.
- Contractor & Stakeholder Relations: Maintain positive working relationships with doctors, allied health professionals, external contractors, suppliers, and the Primary Health Network.
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in practice management or a senior administrative role within a medical setting, with demonstrated achievement or capability in the following areas:
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and work with financial statements.
- Business planning and strategic thinking, including developing effective operational and long-term practice solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience in process improvement and implementing systems to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Human Resources experience, including recruitment, training, and performance review processes.
- High level of computer literacy, with experience using Best Practice, MYOB, PRODA, and Cubiko (or similar practice management and reporting systems).
Desirable Criteria:
- Qualifications in Business Administration, Health Administration, Practice Management, or a related field.
- Experience with government initiatives (e.g., PIP, WIP) and Medicare billing processes.
