Service Designer / Service Design Blueprints / Digital Service Standards / Geelong Based / Hybrid working

Hays Technology is currently partnered with a leading federal government organisation to recruit an **EL1 Service Designer within Digital Transformation Program for an initial 12-month contract with a view of further extension**. This will be a hybrid role working from home and Geelong office location.
**Your new role**
EL1 Service Designer will be a team leadership role, exercising a significant degree of independence and using a high-level of decision-making and judgement. In this role, you will be involved in providing the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team and assigned Contractors working within the department.
You will be responsible for:
- Creating and documenting a baseline understanding of the current state service by employing design research to identify current business processes and user experience.
- Creating and facilitating process design improvements by conducting business and systems process analysis and producing required analysis documentation.
- Facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test the future service (processes, channels, experiences).
- Ensuring the end-to-end service experience is based around participant and staff need, in line with the Digital Service Standard and is consistent for all users across different touchpoints.
- Providing expertise and supporting the product owner to elaborate user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps.
- Providing support to the product owner with the use of system tools
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Proven previous experience in a Service Designer leadership capacity
- Stakeholder management experience, particularly in determining business readiness criteria
- Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams across varied skillsets on large projects
- Experience in delivering service design blueprints and associated deliverables
- Demonstrated experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience working with a service industry, with an end user process
- Stakeholder management experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A pro-active personality, with a can-do attitude
- Preferable prior knowledge and experience in disability and/or public sector.
