Food Safety & HSE Coordinator – dnata
Role Overview
This dynamic role combines Food Safety & Compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) monitoring for the Darwin Airport catering facility. You will audit, report and train both functions to maintain the highest operational standards.
Responsibilities
* Conduct scheduled and ad hoc internal Food Safety, HACCP and supplier audits.
* Record audit findings and collaborate with the Unit Manager and GM QA to resolve non‐compliance.
* Provide specialist HACCP and Halal guidance to stakeholders.
* Investigate customer complaints, food poisoning allegations and supplier non‐conformances.
* Maintain knowledge of State and Federal Food Safety legislations and coordinate microbiological testing.
* Lead a 'Safety First' culture, promote visible signage, and deliver safety improvement plans.
* Assist in safety and environmental hazard identification, reporting and incident investigation.
* Oversee health safety and environmental performance and support external auditor engagements.
* Prepare monthly HSE reports and support first‐aid and incident reporting.
Qualifications
* Formal qualifications in Microbiology, Food Safety & Tech or HS&E.
* Demonstrated experience in a similar dual‐function role is highly desirable.
* Experience in a fast‐paced, large commercial or factory setting.
* Strong teamwork and solo work capabilities.
* Understanding of NT HSE legislation, workers' compensation, and food health guidelines.
* Competency in documentation and records management using Microsoft Office.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Clear National Police Check required (aviation industry).
