Position Title: Medical Receptionist
Reporting to: Practice Manager
Casual Role with oppurtunity to possibly move into a permanent position at a later stage this year or next. Currently looking to start with 2 days a week.
Organize appointments, maintain records, and execute administrative tasks to ensure efficient practice operations and deliver exceptional patient care. Our practice has been serving the local community since 1955 and we would like a new receptionist to represent us.
Responsibilities:
* Manage reception: Open and close clinic (depending on shifts), greet patients courteously, handle phone calls promptly, schedule appointments, and manage patient invoices.
* Maintain patient records: Update registration details, manage test result inquiries, and ensure confidentiality.
* Administrative tasks: Handle mail, send/type medical reports, and manage patient correspondence.
* Other duties: Participate in staff meetings and attend training sessions.
Requirements:
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and proficiency in administrative tasks.
* Working with Children Check (Employee Type)
* Best Practice experience is ideal but not essential
* Familliar with MBS Item Codes and billing (not essential but ideal)
* Willingness to participate in training and meetings.
* Flexible availability (Tue, Wed, Thurs, Friday)
* Applicants must hold valid Australian work rights including citizens, permanent residents, and visa holders with appropriate work entitlements.
* Availability for 2-3 days per week from Tuesday to Friday as required by the practice.
