The Opportunity
Repair, maintain and construct steel components for the fixed plant, equipment and other structures including a fleet of trucks. Construct pressure vessels, tanks, storage bins, large pipework, etc. Set up and operate hand tools, including flame‐cutting torches, drills, grinders, clamps. Undertake tasks involving specialist measuring equipment and hand tools. Maintain, clean, repair & paint waste containers and equipment. Join metal sections together by welding, bolting and riveting. Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision, and perform necessary repairs or reworks. Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine fabrication job requirements. Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as necessary. Program machinery or computer‐aided fabrication tools to optimise the metal fabrication process. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. Work in collaboration with contractors and other trade professionals where required.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade
* Minimum current driver's licence class C
* Forklift licence
* Rigging ticket
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Excellent attention to detail
* Robust problem‐solving skills
* Commitment to safety and following established procedures
* Willing to take a pre‐employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
