About the role

The Senior Resource Recovery Officer – Organics will be responsible for planning and project managing an integrated organics program in line with the waste hierarchy. This includes performance monitoring and opportunity identification of Council's Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) kerbside collection service. The officer is also responsible for organics-related procurement (e.g. compostable liners and caddies) and responding to Customer Requests related to the FOGO service and organics programs.

Remuneration

$99, $110, % Superannuation

Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications

Degree level qualifications in environmental science or relevant field of study and/or extensive industry experience.

Extensive experience in developing and delivering education for sustainability or behaviour change programs for the community.

High level of practical knowledge and experience in managing food waste avoidance programs, composting/worm farming techniques and organics collection services.

Demonstrated capacity to manage multi-disciplinary projects, with a strong record in research, planning, delivering, reporting, evaluation, time and budget management.

* High level interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to engage effectively with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and community, local government and resource recovery industry stakeholders.
