Baker Advice Group is seeking an Accountant to join our friendly team. We partner with clients to help achieve their goals, providing a full suite of Accounting and Financial Advisers in conjunction with our lending partners. We are a family‑owned multidisciplinary firm looking to establish a home base in Gympie and are searching for a new team member to be a big part of that foundation.
The Role and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the preparation of financial statements, tax returns and business activity statements for all business entities, as well as assisting with the management of our client base across a variety of industries. You will identify compliance concerns and opportunities as they arise, and research and provide advice on technical matters.
The successful applicant will have:
* A degree qualification
* XPM and Xero experience
* Previous experience in other cloud‑based accounting programs is highly regarded; any other accounting software knowledge is also a bonus.
* Broad knowledge of Australian tax fundamentals.
* Exposure to or management of clients.
* High level of interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work autonomously to achieve outcomes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills
* Initiative with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* A high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and a strong technical focus.
* Enthusiasm and self‑motivation.
* Strong business development skills.
* Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrate use of initiative to think outside the box for client solutions.

* Any additional certificates and diplomas obtained in Australia are desirable.
