DUTIES:
* Keeping food stored safely in temperature-regulated environments.
* Could be involved in training junior kitchen staff and apprentices.
* Controlling the heat settings of stoves, ovens, grills, and other kitchen operations.
* Cooking and preparing a variety of Spanish and non-Spanish dishes.
* Serving food by portioning it correctly, plating it, and including sauces, gravies, and decorative garnishes etc - or what may be required as per recipe.
* Inspecting ingredients and meals to maintain high quality standards.
* Making meals that accommodate specific dietary needs according to menu and catering orders.
* Responsible for creating or brainstorming menus with head chef and estimating necessary food supplies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
This position will require the following from the employee –
* Diploma in related field or relevant qualifications.
* Work experience 1 year fulltime in related position.
* Ability to work across multiple sections in the kitchen.
* Can provide high quality food with attention to detail.
* Able to handle high volumes of meals.
* A desire for long term employment.
