About the Role
The Head of Commercialisation is a senior leadership position with the autonomy to shape a fit-for-purpose commercialisation framework that aligns with the Institute's scientific strengths and institutional goals.
You will lead the development and implementation of a strategic approach to commercialisation, working closely with researchers, clinicians, and internal stakeholders to unlock the Institute's most promising research assets.
Your expertise in IP strategy, deal negotiation, and stakeholder engagement will be pivotal in building strong relationships across industry, academia, investors, and policy stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a Commercialisation Strategy: Aligning with research and organisational goals to drive impact and sustainability
* Negotiate Partnerships: Lead the negotiation and execution of licensing agreements, partnerships, and commercial deals to deliver long-term value
* Build Networks: Establish and maintain national and international networks across biotech, medtech, pharma, VC, and government to drive innovation and collaboration
* Cultivate Commercialisation Capability: Support and train researchers to grow their commercialisation capability and understanding

You are a commercially savvy, mission-driven leader with a passion for translating science into tangible health and societal outcomes.
Your exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills will enable you to navigate complex stakeholder groups and build strong relationships to drive success.
Requirements:
* Senior-level experience in research commercialisation, business development, or tech transfer
* Demonstrated capability in IP strategy, deal negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
* Established local and international networks across industry, academia, investors, and policy stakeholders
