Ventia is a leading infrastructure management and essential services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities.
In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, we are currently seeking a Land Management Operator to join our small, close-knit team at Simpson Barracks, Yallambie.
The Land Management Operator is a member of the Land Management team and undertakes daily operational duties as prescribed by the Land Management Team Leader to deliver the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of land and grounds maintenance.
This is a permanent, full-time role operating from Monday to Friday.
Duties:
1. Operation of mowers, tractors, small plant, machinery, powered and non-powered hand tools.
2. Upkeep and maintenance of gardens and lawns.
3. Propagation, planting, and revegetation of diverse landscapes.
4. General groundskeeping tasks including debris and rubbish clean-up, cleaning outdoor features and hardstand areas, line marking, managing injured or dead wildlife.
5. General gardening activities such as mulching, pruning, hedging, turf care, cleaning storm water pits and open drains, and applying chemicals and fertilizers.
6. Carrying out regular inspections and non-technical maintenance, cleaning vehicles, grounds equipment, and small plant to ensure safety and operational readiness during service delivery.
Skills & Experience:
* Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent experience. Experience in a similar working environment.
* Experience operating a tractor (under 4.5 tonnes).
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* Experience working within an Environmental Management System.
* Problem solving and solutions-focused approach.
