Our Queensland Government client is currently seeking a
Portfolio Analyst (Business Intelligence)
to execute the reporting requirements for the Portfolio Management Office. In this role you will work closely with the Infrastructure Investment & Finance team to enable the investment and performance reporting requirements of the Department's Capital and maintenance portfolio of programs and projects.
As the Portfolio Analyst, you will:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of portfolio performance and reporting frameworks, standards, and templates.
Coordinate data collection, validation, and consolidation across programs and business areas to ensure consistency and accuracy of performance information.
Prepare portfolio performance reports, dashboards, and visualisations to support internal and external reporting requirements (e.g. Treasury, Cabinet submissions).
Undertake analysis of portfolio data to identify performance trends, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
Support the preparation of executive briefings, performance summaries, and recommendations for governance committees.
Maintain and update portfolio reporting tools and systems (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Fabric) to ensure accessibility and data integrity.
Engage with stakeholders across the business and central teams to ensure alignment of performance information with organisational objectives.
What you'll bring to the role:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
Experience in infrastructure would be beneficial
Sound understanding of portfolio, program, and project performance measurement principles.
Experience in data analysis, performance reporting, and dashboard development.
Proficiency with data and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Fabric).
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of briefings and reports for executive audiences.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
