About the role
We're looking for a mid‐level Product Designer to join Culture Amp's Design Systems team within the Core Services Camp. You'll help maintain and evolve our design system, Kaizen, enabling product teams to ship cohesive, accessible and high‐quality experiences efficiently across the platform. You'll collaborate closely with designers and engineers to deliver reusable components, clear documentation and pragmatic patterns that balance usability, accessibility and technical feasibility.
How we work
You'll be part of a collaborative Unified Systems team in Core Services, partnering across product teams to ensure our design system remains a reliable, scalable foundation. The work blends system stewardship (components, tokens, guidance) with practical enablement so teams can move faster while delivering consistent, accessible experiences.
What you'll do
* Contribute to the design, development, maintenance and scaling of design system components, foundations and patterns, with a focus on accessibility, usability and consistency.
* Create and improve documentation, usage guidelines and examples that help product teams adopt the system effectively.
* Partner with engineers to ensure high‐quality implementation of components and patterns; participate in reviews to uphold standards and technical excellence.
* Support teams using the system: answering questions, reviewing adoption and helping teams use components correctly rather than just shipping one‐offs.
* Identify inconsistencies, outdated patterns or accessibility gaps via audits and stress testing, and propose improvements.
* Advocate for and apply accessibility best practices (e.g., WCAG), ensuring components and guidance are inclusive by default.
* Collaborate cross‐functionally to solve real product use cases with feasible, scalable system solutions and provide day‐to‐day enablement.
* Contribute to design system rituals by participating in critiques, shaping team processes and helping define how the team works.
* Improve tools, processes and workflows that make contribution and adoption smoother over time.
* Align your work to company and platform objectives, helping embed system‐level thinking into initiatives across teams.
About you
* 3+ years' experience in design systems, product design or related roles (SaaS/tech preferred), with examples of shipping reusable UI and guidance.
* High proficiency in Figma—variables, component architecture, auto‐layout, naming conventions and library management. Can audit a library and identify structural issues.
* Familiarity with design system tooling beyond Figma, including design tokens, component libraries and documentation tools like Storybook.
* Solid grasp of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and usability principles.
* Systems thinking with strong attention to detail; you care about scalability and coherence across products.
* Proven ability to work cross‐functionally with designers, engineers and stakeholders.
* Clear written and verbal communication skills; you document decisions and advocate for guidelines effectively.
Nice to have
* Familiarity with AI‐assisted prototyping tools to accelerate design‐to‐development handoff and reduce implementation ambiguity.
* Data visualisation or complex component experience—tables, charts, forms or other high‐complexity components that require deep systems thinking to get right.
* Familiarity with contribution models for design systems (governance, change management, release notes).
* Exposure to performance, accessibility testing or visual regression tooling in collaboration with engineering.
Employee Benefits
* Employee Share Options Program: Share in Culture Amp's success.
* Programs, coaching and budgets to help you thrive personally and professionally.
* Access to external providers for mental wellbeing and coaching support.
* Monthly Camper Life Allowance: an automatic allowance paid out each month with your pay.
* Team budgets dedicated to team‐building activities and connection.
* Intentional quarterly wellbeing pauses: a company‐wide shutdown day in each region to collectively pause, reset and focus on restoration without using vacation time.
* Extended year‐end breaks.
* Excellent parental leave and in‐work support program available from day 1.
* 5 Social Impact Days a year to make a positive impact outside of work.
* MacBooks and a work‐from‐home office budget for setting up a home office.
* Medical insurance coverage for you and your family (available for US & UK only).
