About The Role

Kick off your Nursing/Midwifery career in a large, dynamic regional health service. Supported program to transition you from Student to Practitioner.

Commencing in February 2027 | Fixed Term for 12 months | 32 hrs per week (0.8 FTE). AWH's Maternity Unit is the largest regional health service in Victoria outside Geelong. There are 1,650 to 1,700 births annually and we are a Level 4 Special Care Nursery that provides care to more than 400 babies per year.

With rotations available across Antenatal/Postnatal Ward, Birth Suite, Women's Surgical Unit and Special Care Nursery you will have access to a diverse range of educational opportunities and professional development support as you build practical experience and theoretical knowledge through attendance at study days and hospital education sessions.

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) qualification.
• Double Degree (Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated person and family centred approach to decision making and care planning activities.
• Ability to work as a team member within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Understanding and ability to practice within a quality and risk management framework.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‐19 and flu or holding an approved medical contraindication certificate.
