The Account Technology Strategist (ATS) is a senior technology advisor role that bridges Microsoft's solutions with customers business goals. In this capacity, the ATS acts as a de-facto Chief Technology Officer for the account, guiding the technology strategy to align with its business objectives. The ATS will partner closely with leadership (e.g. CTO, CIO, CDO) to understand the customers objectives, technology landscape, and regulatory environment, and then develop technology roadmaps that drive innovation while ensuring compliance and security. By delivering a high-quality technical account plan (including a clear 3-horizon roadmap of tech initiatives), the ATS helps the customer leverage cutting-edge Microsoft technologies (Azure Cloud, AI, etc.) to achieve strategic outcomes. The role is part of Microsoft's enterprise account team and works hand-in-hand with the Account Executive and a virtual team of specialists and partners, ensuring that Microsoft's broad product portfolio and services are successfully mapped to customers needs. Responsibilities In the ATS role, you will lead strategic technology engagement for the customer, focusing on executive relationships, enterprise architecture, solution orchestration, and innovation. Key responsibilities include: - Technical Relationship Development : Build and co-own strategic relationships with customer senior technology stakeholders - including CTO, CIO, CDO, CISO, and other innovation leaders. - Enterprise Architecture & Roadmapping : Develop a deep understanding of customer business challenges and processes at a strategic level - Technical Orchestration : Act as the lead orchestrator of Microsoft's technical teams and resources for the account - Innovation, AI, and Thought Leadership : Serve as a thought leader to introduce emerging technologies (AI, Machine Learning, analytics, etc.) in ways that create business value for customer - Strategic Business Conversations : Engage in high-level strategic discussions with customers business and IT leaders to connect technology initiatives with business outcomes - Performance & Outcome Management : Ensure that all technology strategies and projects are tied to measurable outcomes for both customer and Microsoft. Qualifications - Experience: 6 years of experience in roles such as technical consulting, technology solution sales, enterprise architecture, or similar technical consultative positions where you drove technology adoption for clients. This experience should include practice building or business consulting exposure - i.e. having led or significantly contributed to technology strategy engagements, digital transformation projects, or large-scale IT solution implementations. - Enterprise Technology Knowledge: Proven ability to understand and assess complex IT environments and map technology solutions to business needs. - You should have a broad knowledge of enterprise technologies (cloud platforms, applications, data analytics, security frameworks, etc.) and how they interconnect within a customers IT ecosystem. In-depth understanding of Microsoft's product portfolio (Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, etc.) is expected, as the role involves crafting strategies leveraging these offerings. - Strategic & Analytical Skills: Strong business acumen with the ability to grasp the customers business model, financial services products, and competitive pressures - Communication & Leadership: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ATS must confidently engage with C-level executives and business unit leaders, as well as technical teams. Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence at senior levels is critical. This includes exceptional presentation skills (for leading strategy sessions or executive briefings) and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in clear, business-focused language. Leadership skills are also important - you should be able to inspire and guide virtual teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary groups towards common goals without direct authority, acting as a strategic project leader and mentor within the account team.
