Trainer and assessor - rail

What you'll be doing

* Deliver training and competency assessments for employees and contractors across multiple sites.
* Implement approved training plans in line with policies, procedures and RTO requirements.
* Deliver competency‐based training and assessment using approved training packages.
* Support Maintenance Execution Managers and Supervisors with training delivery and capability uplift.
* Review and assess Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) applications.
* Coordinate training requirements to ensure compliance with the Rail Safety Act.
* Manage training records, assessment outcomes and reporting via Learning Hub.
* Monitor delivery of training requirements and contribute to monthly reporting.
* Develop, review and update training materials using standard templates.
* Evaluate training effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Provide subject matter expertise to Engineering and Standards teams.
* Promote training, safety and compliance awareness across the business.
* Actively support a strong safety culture and address unsafe work practices where required.

What you'll bring

* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (essential).
* Trade qualification with a minimum of 5 years' experience in rail, mining or a similar heavy industry.
* 2–5 years' experience in a training or assessment role within a maintenance or rail environment.
* Strong understanding of competency‐based training and RTO compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to engage with a wide range of operational and technical stakeholders.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
* Willingness to travel to various operational sites as required.

Experience with enterprise training systems, reporting tools (e.g. Tableau) and Microsoft applications is desirable.
