Cook – Casual
Location: Inverell, NSW
Pay: $32.90 per hour
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Cook to join our team at 'Killean'. Situated in the fertile agricultural region of the NSW Northern Tablelands, the McLean Care Residential Care facility is a 138-bed home located in picturesque Inverell, the "Sapphire City".
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals, ensuring all dietary needs are met
* Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including food storage and safe handling
* Build positive, collaborative working relationships with staff
* Monitor inventory and order supplies as required
* Assist with seasonal menu planning
About You
You will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Essential Requirements
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
* Proven experience in a similar environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
* Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
* Two recent managerial referees
* Police Clearance (provided free of charge)
* Compassionate, patient and positive attitude
Advantageous
* Safe Food Handling Training – covers safe preparation, storage and service of food, including hygiene and cross-contamination prevention
* Chemical Handling Certificate – covers safe use, storage and disposal of cleaning and sanitising chemicals, PPE requirements, and understanding Safety Data Sheets
* Previous experience in aged care or healthcare environments
